The 2025 Forknife is a post-gender artifact, serving as a protest against the feminine and masculine division of personas. While the 2019 iterations were defined by their dysfunction, Forknife is a functional manifesto. By physically merging the table’s two most polarized instruments (the “feminine” pick and the “masculine” cut), the binary is dissolved into a single, seamless gesture of agency. The traditional handle, long a symbol of distance and “refined” etiquette, is discarded. In its place, a palm-held grip demands a tactile, intimate proximity to the act of nourishment, gathering a “handful of qualities” into one self-sovereign tool.
